Stop 6: Landscape of Hope
About this stop
“Landscape of Hope was inspired by the rolling farm hills of central Pennsylvania and the endless winding roads we travel.
“The changes in the landscape are beautiful each season but nature seems especially forceful in spring, always pushing forward. My experience painting the landscape is an emotional response rather than documenting a specific view. These paintings are an invention based on many small studies I painted outside.
“The foreground and background in the paintings are abstracted and compressed into a flattened perspective suggesting three glimpses and a cyclical view of time.”
